Celebrate with us at the 6th Annual Toast to Ag!
The entire community is invited to join us at the Benton County Country Club as we celebrate the influence of agriculture in our community! The evening will begin with a cash bar reception to give you the opportunity to visit with your neighbors. The program will include a brief update from the Community Foundation, short remarks from special guest Laura Hansend Dean, and the recognition of the Benton Central Meats' Judging Team.
Join us early for a discusion on Farm Succession Planning at Fowler United Methodist Church!
Your family's farm is the result of years (maybe generations) of hard work. Just as you have made preparations for each year's crop, you should thoughtfully prepare a succession plan for your farm. Is there a family member who will take over the operation? Will the farm be split among heirs? What are your options when you don't have another generation interested in the farm?
Laura Hansen Dean has helped families talk about their legacy for decades. An estate planning attorney, Laura has spent time leading an Indiana Community Foundation and at major universities in Texas and Colorado. Laura uses her years of experience to train local adivsors on all types of estate planning matters. During this discussion, Laura will share the five things you need to consider in your farm's succession plan. She'll offer examples of the most commom plans, both for families who have another generation to continue the operation and for those who do not. Before we head over to the Toast, you'll have the oppotunity to ask Laura your questions.
The Succession Planning workshop will be held in the Hall at the Fowler United Methodist Church from 4:00-6:00 PM. Join us for both the Succession Planning Workshop and Toast to Ag for $35 per person. You may also register for either event for just $20.
